Happy Independence Day!

I hope everyone had a delightful 4th of July.  I spent the last couple of days in our basement going through long-lost storage tubs making room for one of our storage spaces to become my Etsy space.  Right now, all of my business storage tubs are upstairs in my husband's studio.  He would like the room back so he can watch his big screen TV.  :)  I can't say as I blame him.

Both of us didn't fall off the bus load of perfectly organized people, so lots of things got put away in storage tubs and placed in a room in the basement for the future.  The future was the last few days and it's been quite fun to open things up and find out what has been stored there so many years ago.  (We've been in our home for 19 years.)

I came across this America Online disc:

There were so many computer floppy discs and hard discs, but I kept this one.  Why?  Back in 1994, my husband and I met on American Online.  I lived in northern Illinois and he was in Lawrence, Kansas.  Back then we were trailblazers because this meeting online and marrying thing was very new, if not nearly unheard of compared to today!

I also found 2 storage tubs full of vintage ephemera that I put away in 2002 when I packed up my antique mall booth to sell online. After that, my grandmother needed assistance selling her 2 homes full of antiques, so I put my own business on hold for a few years.  I knew I had some vintage things in the basement so I was more than tickled to come across everything. I hit the jackpot all over again!

Now I'm in the midst of painting and since my hearing is extremely sensitive, the basement was the perfect place to be on the 4th of July.

I have my Etsy shop on vacation until later next week.  I want to finish up painting and get everything set back up. There will be a bit of lake time in between, so look for Dancing Bumblebee Cottage to be open by Friday of next week.

Until then, enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you soon!
